2. Jubilee Field Path

Cllr Dickson-Green noted that the path had been widened as agreed at the previous meeting. It had been agreed at the June meeting to attempt to widen the path without gravelling it afterwards on the understanding the additional works could still be required in addition. He expressed concerns that without the gravel the path was now in a poor state. Cllr Dickson-Green argued that this looked bad and could cause health and safety problems for the coming peak holiday season when the park would be at its most used. A quote to gravel the path had been received for £750 + VAT.

After discussion, it was agreed that the extra money was required to finish the job that had been started. While it was not certain that a gravel path would make the route any more even and easy to walk on than the currently cleared paths, it was agreed that it was necessary to improve the access and avoid the path becoming boggy or washing away with rain or flooding. The gravel used would be chosen to match the path under the North Tyne bridge as closely as possible.

The motion to accept the quote for the gravelling of the path was agreed unanimously.
