5. Matters Arising from the Minutes

5.1 Planning Permission refused: Planning Application 21/04592/FUL for demolition of two youth hostel cabins and erection of eight caravan pitches and children’s play area at Hareshaw Linn Caravan Park was refused by Northumberland County Council.

5.2 Grass cutting: Following repeated complaints by the parish council, and others, Karbon Homes contractors finally cut the grass at Holm Court and other areas. The company has now supplied detailed maps of the grassed areas it was responsible for.

5.3 Westland Allotments: Councillors were circulated between meetings of the need for a skip to facilitate the removal of redundant greenhouses and other impedimenta from the allotments site. This was agreed, but eventually two skips were needed, at a total cost of £848.74.

5.4 Jubilee Field Play Equipment: After a lengthy delay, the play equipment ordered from Kompan was delivered towards the end of September. Handyman Michael Bacon was engaged to carry out repairs, but was unable to replace the zipwire as the wrong shackle appeared to have been supplied to link the new seat to the overhead wire. This was confirmed following a subsequent on-site meeting between Cllrs Wilkinson and Tilley. Cllr Tilley has contacted Kompan via telephone and email to try resolve the issue, so far without success. Cllr Tilley has also paid a separate site visit to the play park with former chairman of the playground committee Les Mole, who identified a number of issues with damage to equipment, inadequate amount of sand in play pit and need to regularly rake bark under the main climbing frame.
